A criminal case has been opened against the woman for obstructing the exercise of electoral rights and the work of the election commission (clause “c” of Part 2 of Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the Investigative Committee, at the polling station, a pensioner poured a flammable liquid from a bottle onto the curtain of the booth and then set it on fire. The police, the investigation claims, “stopped illegal actions.” The woman was taken to the investigative department. Under the charged article, which involves an act “by a group of persons by prior conspiracy,” she faces a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles, forced labor or imprisonment of up to five years.
