Face Pay launched at all stations of the Moscow metro in October 2021, and in September 2022 the service also appeared on the entire Moscow Central Circle.
For contactless fare payment, citizens must register in the Moscow Metro application and add a face photo, a Troika transport card and a bank card to their account. To pay for a trip using the service, the passenger needs to stand on a special black sticker in front of the turnstile and look into the camera installed on it. The turnstile doors will open, and the fare will be automatically debited from the linked bank card.
