Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov said on Saturday that, according to weather forecasts, up to 33 degrees of heat is expected in the capital this weekend and next week.
In this regard, as noted by the deputy mayor, “the number of vacationers near water bodies will increase many times over.”
Therefore, “rescuers have stepped up patrols of water areas to quickly identify and prevent incidents.”
In places of recreation for Muscovites, security is provided by employees of 25 search and rescue stations and rescue posts.
Every day, 113 specialists go on duty, they work on boats, and also patrol reservoirs on foot. Rescuers also use unmanned aerial vehicles to monitor the situation on the water.
Under the constant control of rescue services are the Moscow River, Serebryany Bor, Stroginskaya floodplain, Clean Bay, the Khimki reservoir, as well as the capital’s ponds, said Biryukov.
Earlier, the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation raised the weather hazard in Moscow to the last, “orange” level from August 13 to 15.
