The yellow level of weather danger has been declared in Moscow and the Moscow region, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.
This is reportedly due to icy conditions.
“Yellow – the weather is potentially dangerous,” the message says.
At the same time, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that the temperature at the weekend would be 4-5 degrees above the climatic norm.
“On Saturday, the maximum values are from 0 to minus 2, on the night from Saturday to Sunday it will be from 2 to 5 degrees below zero, on Sunday afternoon – minus 1-minus 3 and light snow,” he said in a comment to RIA Novosti.
According to him, the ice will remain until the beginning of next week. “If the snow had fallen more than 5-6 centimeters, it would not have happened, but since the snow would be light, it would be slippery on the roads,” Vilfand said.
