In Moscow, a surrogate mother accused the intermediary of fraud

A surrogate scandal erupted in Moscow – a woman who carried someone else’s child under her heart for 9 months was not paid after the birth of the baby. According to her, a fee of 1.5 million rubles was appropriated by an intermediary between biological and surrogate mothers.

As it became known to “MK”, in August last year, a 36-year-old Muscovite, who had not been able to get pregnant for a long time, turned to a well-known reproductive medicine clinic and decided on surrogate motherhood. In order to find a proven surrogate mother, the doctors advised to turn to a well-known intermediary in narrow circles, who was looking for women who bear children for money.

The reputation of the 38-year-old lady was good, many clients were satisfied with her services and left positive reviews on a specialized website. Here is one of them: “Our family is extremely grateful to our coordinator, our guardian angel. For many years we tried to give birth on our own. She kept me and my husband informed throughout the pregnancy. There was a case when I had to call her almost at night, and she did not refuse the conversation. During childbirth, she was also there! Thank you very much”.

In the case of the Muscovite, at first everything also went according to a clear plan – an experienced 30-year-old surrogate mother from Belgorod was found, who had previously collaborated with an intermediary. Then documents and a contract were signed, according to which the customer must pay the performer 50 thousand rubles a month, and after giving birth, a reward of 1.5 million rubles. A few days before the birth, the Muscovite transferred the entire fee to the intermediary, for which she received a receipt.

On June 7, after the birth of the boy, the surrogate mother asked the intermediary to give the promised amount, but she began to come up with various reasons to delay the payment. Either she complained about problems with the transfer from abroad, then about legal subtleties and so on. After some time, the procuress made an appointment with a surrogate mother, but she herself did not appear. And soon she turned off the phone and retired from social networks. The frustrated woman in labor left for Belgorod, and a week later she and her husband came to Moscow to find the liar – she knew her home address. Having met a woman on the football field, where her son played, the woman demanded to pay the fee. The mediator said that there was no money, she herself had serious financial difficulties. The swindler even called for help a support group in the form of three formidable men. One of them, apparently trying to intimidate the woman in labor, said that he fought and killed people.

Unable to find a compromise, the surrogate mother met with the biological mother, and she said that the funds were transferred to the intermediary before the birth. The Muscovite was sure that the woman who gave birth to her son received a reward. On June 15, both the biological mother and the surrogate mother filed a complaint with the police about fraud. Meanwhile, the surrogate matchmaker changed her profession and began working in a private printing house.
