A court in Chisinau arrested for 30 days previously detained deputies from the opposition party Renastere-Renaissance, Alexander Nesterovsky and Irina Lozovan. About it reports “Sputnik Moldova”.
The decision to arrest the deputies of the Moldovan parliament was made on September 23 by the Chisinau court in the Checani sector. The deputies were detained on the evening of September 21, and on the same day the parliament, with the votes of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) faction, stripped them of parliamentary immunity.
Lozovan and Nesterovsky, as specified, are accused of accepting funding for a political party from an organized crime group. According to Sputnik Moldova, searches were also carried out this week at the premises of supporters of the Renastere-Renaissance party.
Earlier, at the building of the anti-corruption center in Chisinau has begun opposition rally against “legislative lawlessness, political repression and pressure on the opposition.” The protesters demanded the release of Nesterovsky and Lozovan. It was also reported that 189,200 lei, 25,415 euros, $2,430 and 4,500 Swiss francs were seized from party members during the search. According to the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office, Nesterovsky received $5,000 monthly from the leader of the opposition Moldovan Shor party, Ilan Shor. wrote Telegram channel “Moldavian carriage”.
