In memory of a friend. Valery Nikiforov passed away

Valery Nikiforov, a great friend of Moskovskaya Pravda, has passed away.

Valery Ivanovich Nikiforov was born on November 28, 1941 in the city of Kemerovo Since 1971, he worked in the system of the Union of Journalists, and in 1989, by decision of the secretariat of the Union of Journalists of the USSR, he was appointed director of the All-Union Center for Photojournalism, and after its reorganization, since 1993, he became the general director of the Photocenter Association of the Union journalists.

30 years of his leadership of the “Photocentre” – it was a sacred photographic place on Gogolevsky Boulevard, where documentary reporter photography was preferred and became a well-known exhibition center not only in Moscow and Russia, but also abroad.

Valery Ivanovich is a legendary person, it was very interesting and vital to be friends with him, many people simply united under the shadow of his photo center.

He has always lived here and now, the organization of a photo exhibition in Syria in 2017 “The Unknown War in the Skies of Korea. 1950-53″ at the Russian military base Khmeimim (Syria).
