In the capital of Kuban, 440 athletes took part in running competitions for the prizes of Olympic champion Lyudmila Bragina. The competition took place for the 46th time. Representatives of Kuban, Crimea, Stavropol Territory, Adygea and Abkhazia fought for victory in Krasnodar.
On Saturday, April 13, boys and girls competed at the Dynamo stadium, where a sculpture was installed in honor of Lyudmila Bragina. At 09:00 the participants had a warm-up, the first strata began at 10:00. The athletes tried their hand at distances of 300 m, 600 m, 800 m, 1500 m.
Minister of Physical Education and Sports of Kuban Serafim Timchenko commented that almost 106,000 people are involved in athletics in the region. Over 13,000 athletes train at 65 branches in the region.
Earlier, MK in Kuban wrote that in Krasnodar on April 17 the final of the Chapter Football Cup among school teams will be held.
