The emergency services of the city of Sochi are eliminating the consequences of an avalanche that descended in the area of the luge and bobsleigh track of the mountain Olympic village and damaged infrastructure facilities, informs press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Krasnodar Territory.
Heavy snowfall, which has not stopped in the mountains for several days, caused an avalanche to descend in Krasnaya Polyana, near the mountainous Olympic Village. The avalanche descended along a special branch designed for mudflows, however, the fence of the bobsleigh track was damaged, there were no casualties.
On several streets of the village of Krasnaya Polyana, water and gas are turned off, the power supply is working without interruption. For residents of streets where water supply has been cut off, Vodokanal Sochi organized the supply of water in tank trucks.
