An ostrich that escaped from a zoo in the South Korean city of Seongnam ran through the streets for about two hours and covered almost three kilometers until it was caught by police and firefighters.
The animal was caught when it ran into the fenced area of the parking lot. The 4-year-old ostrich was not injured, although he repeatedly ran onto the roadway.
Zoo officials believe the reason the ostrich ran away could be because his only mate, an ostrich named Tasuni, died last month.
