In the city district of Khimki, after a major renovation, the Yunost universal sports complex was opened. The work was completed six months ahead of schedule. This was reported by the press service of the governor and government of the Moscow region.
The Yunost sports complex became the first of a large-scale program to renovate sports facilities. All sports complexes will be repaired using the same standard and materials. The Yunost sports complex was built 40 years ago. During this time, there was never a major overhaul; only scheduled work was carried out.
During the major renovation, the contractor strengthened the building’s foundation and supporting structures, updated the façade and entrance area, and also repaired the tennis court. Inside the facility there was a universal sports hall, a gym and a dance hall, as well as administrative and utility rooms.
More than 500 young athletes train at the Yunost sports complex. Also on the basis of the sports complex, students of the Russian International Academy of Tourism, participants of the “Active Longevity” program and Nordic walking and aerobics groups engage in physical education.
