The new Tallinn City Government announced plans to terminate lease agreements for real estate properties leased by the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The EOC MP rents seven real estate properties in the Estonian capital, some of which were transferred to the church by the state, and some by the city on the basis of concluded agreements, err.ee reports.
On April 12, Estonian Minister Auri Läänemets announced that he would submit to parliament a proposal to recognize the Moscow Patriarchate as a “terrorist organization.” Many Russian government and religious leaders described this initiative as absurd.
