TASS, citing two sources in the United Russia party, reported that the party leadership does not intend to apply any sanctions against the mayor of Orsk Vasily Kozupitsa against the backdrop of information about the move of his son Nikolai to Saudi Arabia. The head of the city also holds the post of secretary of the local branch of United Russia. The day before, Mr. Kozupica said that he was proud that his children achieve everything on their own.

“There are no questions in the party for the mayor of Orsk, because he has not done anything discrediting. If he had a minor son, and the mayor did not indicate the apartment, this would be one question. The son is an adult, he has the right to do whatever he wants,” said one of the agency’s sources.

Another TASS interlocutor confirmed that the party does not plan to impose sanctions on Vasily Kozupitsa. According to him, they “don’t have anything to show against him.” “If he himself had personally stated something, or if his son was a minor for whom he was responsible, then this would have been a matter of detailed study,” he said.

April 15 Vasyl Kozupitsa commented information that his son Nikolai left for Saudi Arabia shortly after the start of mobilization, and a month ago purchased an apartment in Dubai. According to the mayor, his son went to an Arab country for work. “By the way, there is no honey there either, it’s very hot and the climate is very difficult. And he works there now. I am proud that my children achieve everything on their own, and I have never hidden this,” said Mr. Kozupica.

An investigation into the emigration of Nikolai Kozupitsa was published by the Anti-Corruption Foundation (included in the register of foreign agents, recognized as an extremist organization, liquidated and banned). The video stated that Nikolai Kozupitsa left Russia in October 2022 and moved to Saudi Arabia with his wife and children. There they settled in a villa and received residence permits. The video also says that a month ago Nikolai Kozupitsa moved to Dubai, where he bought an apartment worth 33 million rubles.
