In Rospotrebnadzor, the increase in the incidence of measles in Dagestan was explained by refusals to vaccinate
The head of the Rospotrebnadzor department for Dagestan, Zalimkhan Omariyev, said that refusals to vaccinate caused an increase in the incidence of measles in the region.
As of April 20, 188 confirmed cases of measles have already been registered in the republic. According to the RPN, all patients were not vaccinated.
Omariyev described the measles epidemiological situation in the republic as tense but under control. “People in the course of anti-epidemic measures often do not make contact and refuse to be vaccinated,” he noted this as the main reason for the outbreak.
Cases of measles are still registered in the republic. At the same time, the relevant services managed to prevent outbreaks of infection in kindergartens, schools, boarding schools, and hospitals. “This allows us to say that the epidemiological situation is under control,” Omariyev added.
