The authorities of Buryatia approved a new measure of support for SVO participants and their family members. Today, November 16, at the session of the People’s Khural of the republic, deputies supported a bill providing for the allocation of free land plots to citizens of these categories.

“Participants of the SVO have the right to a one-time free provision of ownership of land plots occupied by residential buildings they own. In addition, they can receive ownership of previously leased land intended for agriculture. To do this, at least three years must pass from the date of conclusion of the agreement,”— noted in the message of the People’s Khural.

The new law also applies to family members of deceased SVO participants – widows who have not remarried, parents, children, including students under the age of 23 studying full-time at universities and colleges.

Other regions of Russia are also ready to allocate land to the participants of the special operation, in particular, in the Altai Territory they recently passed a law on allocating land to awarded veterans of the Northern Military District, more about this in the Kommersant article “Return to Native Land”.
