In Bryansk, the club where Moscow blogger Evgenia Hofman burned her Russian passport was closed. This was reported on the establishment’s social networks.
The club clarified that this happened after law enforcement officers came to check. “The purpose of the employees’ visit is to find the lighter that was used to burn the passport. This is what was written in the search warrant… The concert venue is temporarily on vacation for reasons beyond our control. Once we resolve all issues regarding inspections, we will open the doors again. Please don’t burn your passports, at least in front of our entrance,” the club wrote on social networks.
A comment regarding inspections of clubs appeared in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Bryansk region. It clarifies that police are conducting preventive raids, including in entertainment establishments in Bryansk. Police officers checked the documents of 148 citizens. 49 of them were taken to internal affairs departments. “Six administrative offenses were identified, including for appearing in public places while intoxicated and consuming drugs without a doctor’s prescription. Administrative protocols were drawn up against 4 citizens for failure of parents to fulfill their obligations to support and raise minors,” the law enforcement agencies clarified.
The club itself stated that there were three minors. Of these, two are female DJs with receipts from their parents that they trust the management of the establishment with their children, as well as the 17-year-old brother of the club owner. Moreover, out of 148 people, 142 were sober. 49 people from the list were taken away to give explanations about the situation with the passport.
On the night of January 1, blogger Evgenia Hoffman burned her own Russian passport near the 1991 Place club in Bryansk. She wrote on her social networks that she did this because of the ugly photo. After the publication of the video with the burning of the document, they began to accuse her of doing this in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, although she herself denied this. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Bryansk Region clarified that a resident of Moscow has been charged with desecration of the State Emblem of Russia. She has been placed under house arrest.
