Volunteer Nadezhda Rossinskaya was detained in Belgorod on suspicion of sponsoring the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Today, February 2, the Sverdlovsk court will hold a meeting at which a preventive measure will be chosen for her, said lawyer Evgeny Sokolov.
According to the agency, Nadezhda Rossinskaya works for a non-profit organization that helps victims of armed conflicts. The name of the organization is not given. She provides humanitarian aid and helps with the evacuation of civilians and animals, and searches for missing people.
The girl is accused under Part 2 of Art. 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for activities directed against the security of the state). She allegedly organized a group to collect donations for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Mrs. Rossinskaya herself denies guilt.
“She called me today and said: “I was detained.” She is now in a temporary detention center,” Mr. Sokolov told RIA Novosti.
In November 2023, in the Rostov region, the FSB detained a former employee of a government agency suspected of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A case was opened against her under the article on treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Last year, President Vladimir Putin signed the lawto whom he imposed life imprisonment for treason.
