On August 25, a roller ski half marathon will be held in Naberezhnye Chelny. The event will be organized as part of the celebration of City Day and Republic Day of Tatarstan. Roman Nasredinov, head of the city Department of Physical Education and Sports, announced the upcoming event at a staff meeting, specifying the combination of athletics and rollerskiing competitions.
The half marathon route will run along the central avenues of Avtograd and will be used by both runners and roller skiers, but at different times. More than 500 athletes from different regions of Russia are expected to participate. Online registration for those wishing to participate is now open.
Nasredinov noted that the coming spring-summer season will be busy and interesting. It will begin with the city athletics relay dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and will end with the “Cross of Tatarstan” mass race in September.
