A measles outbreak occurred in the Nizhny Novgorod village of Maloye Tumanovo, which is a densely populated area of Roma. By data regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, as of today, September 11, 93 cases of the disease have been registered in the village. All those who fell ill were not vaccinated against measles.
The source of the infection was a child who had not been vaccinated against measles and who came to the village from another region.
The Rospotrebnadzor department is trying to localize the outbreak of group morbidity. Almost 400 residents have been vaccinated. The forces of five anti-epidemic brigades continue door-to-door surveys of the population.
