In 2022, Rospotrebnadzor helped return more than one and a half billion rubles to consumers

In the nine months of this year, Rospotrebnadzor specialists received hundreds of thousands of complaints from consumers, and as a result, citizens managed to return a total of more than one and a half billion rubles.

In particular, in order to protect the rights of consumers, Rospotrebnadzor specialists issued 8,000 opinions in courts. As a result, the courts issued orders to compensate the victims for a total of 925 million rubles, the ministry said.

In addition, Rospotrebnadzor itself filed 2.4 thousand lawsuits in defense of specific consumers. At the same time, the courts satisfied 95% of the cases considered, 310 million rubles were recovered in favor of consumers.

Another 2.5 thousand lawsuits were filed by Rospotrebnadzor in defense of an indefinite circle of persons. 98% of them were satisfied. The court also ruled in favor of the plaintiff in respect of 16 class actions filed by Rospotrebnadzor.

Meanwhile, in most cases, the case did not reach the court. About 300 thousand complaints filed by consumers to the department were considered by experts, and as a result of the work carried out, the property rights of citizens for a total of 355 million rubles were restored out of court.
