More than 50,000 Russians notified the Ministry of Internal Affairs of their second citizenship or residence permit (permit) in another country in 2022. This is 4.6% less than in 2021. “According to departmental statistical reporting, in 2022, more than 50 thousand people applied to the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with a notification of the presence of another citizenship or a document for the right to permanent residence in a foreign state, which is 4.6% less than in 2021,”— stated in the response.
The department added that most often Russians reported that they had passports of Israel, Armenia, Turkey, Georgia, Germany and Ukraine.
