Igor Semshov became the head coach of the Don football club Chaika. The club announced this on social networks on December 19.
The new mentor of “The Seagull” is the Honored Master of Sports of Russia. Over the years of his career, the 44-year-old football player played for CSKA, Torpedo, Dynamo, Zenit and Krylya Sovetov. He played in the Russian national teams in 2002, 2008 and 2012. In 2008 he became the bronze medalist of the European Championship. He was the coach of the Tula Arsenal and the Moscow Region Chemist.
Since November of this year, “The Seagull” has been left without mentors. Head coach Anzur Sadirov and Artur Sadirov terminated the contract with the club. Under their leadership, the Don team played in 12 matches, winning seven of them.
