Igor Nadzhiev set an example for Philip Kirkorov: he became a woman

The famous singer was the first in the Russian show business to decide on the role of the heroine

The famous singer Igor Nadzhiev suddenly changed his role and became a dramatic actor. But this is not enough. For the first experience on stage as an artist, he chose a very unusual role – a female one. Moreover, infinitely juicy, bright and known to literally everyone. He played Freken Bok! It was impossible to take your eyes off the image: probably few people, well, at least in the domestic show business, could so adequately and deftly carry to the public an immense chest and a fifth point of infinite size. At the same time, Nadzhiyev moved easily and naturally, causing incessant laughter, which is nothing but the real admiration of the audience. Director Roman Koval persuaded the singer to play the role of the legendary “housekeeper”. And so, the premiere of the play “The Kid and Carlson” took place at the Children’s Variety Theater.

The road to production was a long one. Firstly, Igor Nadzhiev, as a popular pop performer, of course, wanted to have a solo aria. That is, the performance must initially be musical. Well, then there were some difficulties in obtaining permission to stage “The Kid and Carlson” from the copyright holders of the legendary literary heritage of Astrid Lindgren, which, as you know, is not at all easy. It took about two years to overcome all obstacles. And finally, the long-awaited premiere took place.

The music for the performance was written by the famous composer – the author of numerous hits for Valery Leontiev, Philip Kirkorov, Iosif Kobzon, Lyubov Uspenskaya and other Russian pop stars of the first magnitude Vladimir Evzerov. Thanks to the hitness of his music, the performance immediately began to play: numerous musical compositions made it possible to stage many beautiful dance numbers. The performance was not made in the style of a musical, it’s just that the characters sing a lot from an excess of feelings. The songs allowed both Igor Nadzhiev and the second singing hero to additionally show his main talents – according to the script, the television announcer that Freken Bock dreams of, he was played by Roman Spektr. In addition, the presence of pop elements in the performance made it possible to introduce special effects inherent in this genre, which invariably caused a strong reaction from the most honest spectators on earth – children.

Young Dima Kalikhov did an excellent job with his role as the Kid. And Carlson himself – Alexander Morozov was very organic and expressive. By the way, he does not sing in the performance, but in the finale he performs backing vocals with Freken Bock. It was then that the main aria of the performance performed by Igor Nadzhiyev “I’ll be back!” Sounds.

Despite the fact that the main leitmotif of the work is preserved and there are no stage liberties in the performance, the director managed to emphasize the main thing that brings all the characters together – loneliness and the search for a loved one. As it turns out in the course of the performance, they all really need each other: the Kid is Freken Bock, and she is a little boy, whom parents always do not care about. And Carlson, it turns out, really needs not only the affection of the Kid, but also the caring of the “housekeeper” with her warm buns and naive faith in fairy tales with conduct. And her dream of television popularity is nothing more than a very sad, although from the outside view and funny, the search for a replacement for great human love. A senseless attempt to escape loneliness by “getting on TV.”

Igor Nadzhiev is an interesting artist. At one time, he was the main competitor of Philip Kirkorov – a similar type and image, but lost to him in the struggle for popularity. As he himself believes, not without the help of Philip from Alla Pugacheva, who, of course, actively promoted her husband then. But Najiev was not lost. For several years he successfully performed in the USA, then he returned and again conquered the Russian public. And now I tried myself in the female role. Which, as you know, is extremely risky due to the great complexity of execution. In any case, none of the Russian show business took the risk of the role of the heroine, although the same Philip Kirkorov was on the verge, playing the role of the Firebird in the movie, which was originally looking for an actress, not an actor. And Kirkorov even portrayed childbirth in the film. The theatrical world, meanwhile, has repeatedly shown that if an actor succeeds in a female role, the performer immediately takes off to the top of popularity. What can be expected from the role of Freken Bok performed by Igor Nadzhiev. In any case, standing ovations and numerous bouquets of flowers in the finale, a full hall of children and adults clearly proved this.
