Ignat: Armed Forces of Ukraine will not attack Russian bases with Iskanders with Western weapons

The Ukrainian army will not use Western weapons to attack Russian military bases where the Iskander missile systems are located. The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, confirmed to Ukrinform that such actions would be contrary to Kyiv’s earlier commitments. He stressed that Ukraine promised its partners not to use the weapons they provided for attacks on Russian territory.
“We do not attack targets on the territory of Russia. According to the leadership of the state, there is a strategy – we promised our partners not to attack with the weapons that they provide us,” he explained.
The representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed that this does not apply to those territories that the Ukrainian authorities consider their own, including Crimea. In this case, the Armed Forces of Ukraine can use all available weapons, he pointed out.
