Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will arrive in Ankara on a working visit on June 3 and attend the inauguration ceremony of re-elected Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was reported by the press service of the head of the republic.

“On this day [3 июня] The leader of Kazakhstan will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” – says in the message.

The day before, on May 31, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that Russia at the inauguration ceremony will present Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. The date of the event was not previously known.

A TASS source noted that the day of the ceremony will be announced after the CEC of Turkey sums up the final results of the presidential elections in the republic. Earlier today CEC announced results: Erdogan won 52.18% of the vote, and his rival Kemal Kılıçdaroglu – 47.82%. Ankara has not yet announced the date of the inauguration ceremony.

Elections in Turkey were held in two rounds. According to the results of the first round, Erdogan and Kılıçdaroglu won 49.52% and 44.88% of the vote, respectively. It was decided to organize a second round after none of the candidates on May 14 passed the mark of 50% of the votes required to win in the first round. On May 28, the second day of voting took place in the country.

Formerly Tokayev congratulated Erdogan “with a well-deserved victory.” The President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that the strategy of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries would continue to develop.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent Erdogan congratulatory telegram. The Russian leader expressed his readiness to continue the dialogue with the re-elected president on issues of the “bilateral, regional and international agenda.” He also noted the importance of implementing joint projects between Russia and Turkey, in particular, the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the creation of a gas hub in Turkey.

May 29 the leaders of Russia and Turkey held telephone conversation, during which Putin noted Erdogan’s great contribution to the development of relations between countries. The Turkish president confirmed that he was set “for further joint work on the entire current agenda.”
