“If there is no soul, there will be nothing in painting…”

The subtle lyricist of the Russian landscape Alexei Savrasov said: “We must learn from nature. You need to see beauty, understand, love. If there is no love for nature, then one should not be an artist … If there is no soul, there will be nothing in painting … “

Creativity of the Moscow artist Vera Korshunova can be safely called the soul of our city. Prechistenka, Yakimanka, the Kremlin and Red Square are favorite places since childhood. Quiet mysterious lanes, old houses, courtyards and arches are the objects of special inspiration for the outstanding painter. The life of several generations of the Korshunov family is connected with these places.

“I will give you Moscow…” is an art exhibition project about love for the native city, admiration for the ancient capital of Russia. The exposition of the exhibition at the Moscow Union of Artists of Russia brings together more than 40 works of painting and graphics from different years.

Moscow in the works of Vera Korshunova is sunny, majestic, hospitable, hospitable. A nostalgic line is traced in the image of old Moscow streets, a light and artistic image-impression arises and comes to life. The ensemble of the Kremlin resembles a fairy tale, refreshing, associated with spiritual joy and purity. Delicate, just emerging spring greenery, and in the depths, behind a stone bridge, ancient buildings whiten, incredibly organically inscribed in the composition.

In the landscapes of modern Moscow, memories of the former, idyllic and serene city of childhood and youth, which has become history, shine through. Vera Korshunova works a lot from nature, developing the traditions of Russian realism and impressionism. Her still lifes are a picturesque declaration of love for life, a personal closed space, built by the author in the complex multidimensional rhythms of the metropolis.

The paintings were watched with pleasure not only by ordinary visitors, but also by recognized masters of painting – Vera’s friends and colleagues.

Vera Korshunova was born in 1973 in Moscow in the family of the artist Alexander Korshunov. She received a classical academic art education at the MAHL RAA at the Institute named after V. I. Surikov, graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute. V. I. Surikov, where her mentors were V. M. Sidorov, M. G. Abakumov, S. A. Sirenko. She is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Moscow Union of Artists, TSHR, a corresponding member of the International Academy of Culture and Art. In 2007, she was awarded the Golden Order of Service to Art, the Order of National Treasure.

The works of Vera Aleksandrovna Korshunova are in private and corporate collections in Russia and abroad, the collections of the Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts, the Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after F. A. Kovalenko, the State Art Museum of Yugra, the Sochi Art Museum, the Murom Museum of History and Art, the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Russian Art in Moscow, Foshan City Museum in China.

Vera Alexandrovna, the author of more than 40 personal exhibitions and art projects, the artist showed in Russian and foreign museums, galleries, cultural centers, authorities, including the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. The permanent exhibition of works is presented in the gallery of Vera Korshunova in Moscow.
