Mash: Hockey player Maxim Sergeev was detained on charges of espionage in Poland
The Telegram channel Mash reports that 20-year-old Russian hockey player Maxim Sergeev was detained in Poland on charges of espionage.
As noted in the publication, the player represents the Zaglebie hockey club, which plays in the Polish Hockey League, and in Russia the athlete played for HC Balashikha and Spartak. It is noted that the detention of the hockey player became known earlier on June 30, but the name of the athlete detained on charges of espionage was not called.
According to the Prosecutor General of Poland, Zbigniew Zebro, Sergeev became the 14th Russian who was detained by the Polish special services. According to the Polish authorities, the hockey player was engaged in the calculation of critical infrastructure in several provinces of the country. Sergeev could face up to 10 years in prison, at the moment the athlete was arrested by the court for three months.
