The International Atomic Energy Agency has reported that Zaporozhye NPP is preparing to restart one of its six reactors.
As stated in the message on the IAEA website, the Ukrainian staff of the station informed the international experts present here about the preparations for the launch of the 5th power unit. It is indicated that the launch will be carried out at reduced power.
The timing of the launch of the reactor is not specified, it is said that “it will take time to complete the preparation of critical infrastructure and equipment.”
Earlier on Wednesday, October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree transferring the Zaporizhzhya NPP to Russian control.
