“I came to training with my sister”: Yamal boxer Daria Salinder spoke about the start of her sports career

The Peoples of the Arctic project has launched a series of videos dedicated to famous people of Yamal. The videos were filmed by Yamal-Media by order of the Department for Indigenous Peoples of the North. The first heroine was the Nadym boxer Daria Salinder.
The girl spoke about her sports path. She was born in Nyda, then moved with her family to Nadym. Boxing was originally practiced by her younger sister.
“Once my mother punished me for pranks at school, and they didn’t let me go anywhere. I asked to be allowed to train with my sister. I came to the hall, and I immediately liked everything – there was a friendly atmosphere. I get a lot of support from the Yamal people, it really helps me to tune in, thank you very much to everyone,” said Daria Salinder.
The boxer emphasized that a base for sports has been created in Yamal. Modern centers and complexes are opening even in remote villages.
“It is very important for the guys who live there. You can already from childhood, without leaving the city, choose a section and play sports professionally, ”the girl said.
Recall that recently Daria Salinder took the silver international tournament in Serbia.
