I always pass characters through myself

Our film reviewer talked to the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Viktor Dobronravov and found out what projects with the participation of the artist the viewer can see on the screens in the near future.

– Victor, the project “Artist” is in production, in which you play Mikhail Rudakov. Please tell us more about this work.

“This is a story that takes place in Moscow at the end of the war. The front line has already gone to the west, and rampant crime reigns in Moscow. The movie will be somewhat similar to “Liquidation” or “The meeting place cannot be changed.” A multi-part detective with a good script, a wonderful strong ensemble of actors. I play there an NKVD officer, one of the main characters. According to the plot, it is not clear who exactly is the villain, everyone is under suspicion, so I will not reveal the details, it will not be interesting for you to watch.

– I enjoyed watching another military film with your participation – “Soldier” by Victoria Fanasyutina, where you played the commander of a partisan detachment. It was very convincing. Was there a veteran who became the prototype for your hero? How do artists generally work on such images?

— I pass the characters through myself. Such images are always collective for me. For such a prototypical hero is not required.

– I was very glad that you finally managed to work with the wonderful Viktor Shamirov. I love his humor, his films and performances that are shown at the Mossovet Theatre.

– Viktor Shamirov, I agree with you here, he is really wonderful and insanely talented in everything – both as a screenwriter, and as a director, and as an actor. All this is wonderfully combined in one person. I am very glad that we finally managed to cross paths with him in work. He wrote the script. In fact, the film “The Lesser Evil” is a full-length picture, which Shamirov divided into three episodes of half an hour each. A very local actor’s story about friends, about crisis moments of middle age. There is no complex computer graphics there, so I hope that the project will appear on the screens quickly enough and we will be able to watch it.

— And what prompted you to create the image of Ethan Blake in the film “Unknown”, which is also still in the works?

– This is a fantastic story, where there are a lot of intricacies connected with the future, with the past, there are a lot of all sorts of sources of energy. After all, I had never starred in this genre, it was interesting for me to participate in a fantastic project. I’m also looking forward to the release of this movie.

– And when will the sensational “My Happiness” start filming?

This project has been delayed for a long time. A team was assembled, we discussed it, we were ready to get to work. Director Alexei Frandetti wanted to tell a story about a front-line brigade of artists who went behind enemy lines in order to commit a large-scale sabotage. But first, the filming process was stalled due to the pandemic, and then other external factors arose, so we have not even started work yet.

– Well, now Frandetti has been appointed the chief director of Lenkom, so in the coming year it will probably not be easy for him to find time for filming. We talked about what’s coming up for release. And in what recent projects can the viewer see you today?

– Recently there was a premiere of the film “One” about Larisa Savitskaya, who survived a plane crash and was even listed in the Guinness Book of Records. I love life-affirming pictures, and this one is one of them.
