From the middle of next week, pre-winter will begin in the center of the European part of Russia, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, told TASS. In the Moscow region, a temperature drop of up to 5°C is predicted during the day.
According to the meteorologist, pre-winter usually begins “in the fourth five days of October.” “From the middle of next week, from the 19th, a confident and noticeable decrease in temperature will begin – both nights and days will be quite cool. This year, the pre-winter will come as scheduled,” he said.
Prewinter is one of the six synoptic seasons. It usually starts from mid-October and ends by mid-December, after which the winter season begins.
By forecast forecasters, today, October 15, it will be 9–11 ° C in Moscow (in the Moscow region – 7–12 ° C), cloudy, without precipitation. On October 16, the temperature in the capital will rise slightly – up to 11-13°C (in the region – 9-14°C), it will again be cloudy with clearings.
