Hunter Biden case to be handled by special counsel

A special prosecutor will investigate the criminal case against Hunter Biden, the son of the President of the United States. This was announced on Friday, August 11, in the US Department of Justice.
The department clarified that it was the special prosecutor who would decide, based on the results of this investigation, whether to bring charges against Hunter Biden.
Judging by the court documents, representatives of the prosecution and the defense failed to reach an agreement – the negotiations reached an impasse.
In July, Biden Jr. said in Delaware District Court that ready to plead guilty in a tax case. As part of the plea agreement, the US Department of Justice may recommend that the son of the American president be placed on probation and dispense with actual imprisonment.
The American president was asked to comment on his son’s involvement in the business, which Hunter Biden’s business partner Devon Archer spoke about earlier in the US Congress. However Biden called the question ugly and refused to answer it, assuring that “it’s not true.”
