Hungary intends to block EU military assistance to Ukraine until the lifting of sanctions against the Hungarian OTP Bank, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó.
“Until Ukraine removes OTP from the list of international sponsors of the war, Hungary will not be able to participate in decision-making on the European Peace Fund and sanctions,” the minister said (quote by Index).
He added that Ukraine “behaves more and more hostile towards Hungary”, so the Cabinet of Ministers will not support the 11th package of sanctions.
Earlier, the media reported that Hungary had blocked a military tranche from the European Union for Ukraine in the amount of 500 million euros from the European Peace Fund. May 16 this information confirmed at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
