Hungary demands that Ukraine immediately stop the atrocities against ethnic Hungarians in the Transcarpathian region, Tamas Menzer, Secretary of State for Bilateral Relations at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, wrote on social networks.

“We condemn what happened. We call on local leaders to immediately stop the atrocities against the Hungarians,” Menzer wrote. He also called on Kyiv to immediately do everything possible to reverse the anti-Hungarian decisions and restore the status quo.

He warned that “if Ukraine wants to become a member of the EU, then the continued and systematic harassment and disenfranchisement of the national community is unacceptable.”

The head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic, Gergely Guiyash, said earlier that Hungary does not plan to supply weapons to Ukraine, guided by the interests not only of its own security, but also of the security of ethnic Hungarians in Transcarpathia.

Commenting on the supply of weapons to Ukraine by other countries, the Prime Minister stressed that Budapest had always warned about the possibility of an escalation of the conflict.
