Hungarian Foreign Ministry called the Nord Stream incident a terrorist attack

Undermining Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 should be regarded as a terrorist attack. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“Whatever happens on the Nord Stream gas pipeline is really scandalous. Because this is, in fact, the first time that such a large piece of European critical infrastructure has been attacked. From anyone, but he was attacked. And such an attack should be regarded as an act of terrorism.” said He.

Szijjarto added that Hungary supports a detailed investigation into the incident, which will help identify those involved in the attack, regardless of who initiates the proceedings. The incident at Nord Stream occurred on the night of September 26, 2022. Pressure dropped in both pipelines, after which two leaks were discovered, which were located in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Sweden, and two more in the Danish EEZ.

Initially, Germany, Sweden and Denmark agreed to conduct a joint investigation, but this idea was later abandoned. In October 2022, Sweden announced the completion of the investigation, stating “increasing suspicions of gross sabotage”, but those responsible for what happened were not named.
