Hungarian Foreign Minister accuses EU of all kinds of blackmail against Budapest

The European Union has always made “violent” attacks on Hungary, using all types of blackmail, Budapest should prepare for subsequent attacks from the EU, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said at a civil solidarity forum.
“Now there is practically no such type of blackmail that Brussels would not resort to in relation to Hungary … We were always attacked, attacked violently, but in the end it always turned out that we were right. And in the coming period, of course, we need to prepare for future serious attacks,” leads his words to RIA Novosti.
According to the minister, the EU and the “liberal propaganda machine” will use the spread of fakes, as well as monetary and political blackmail. Szijjarto, speaking about Hungary’s policy, which has never been mainstream but has been successful, recalled that the country refused to accept migrants and bought coronavirus vaccines from Russia and China, and now advocates a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier, Hungary at the December 7 meeting of EU Permanent Representatives spoke against the introduction of a new package of sanctions against Russia. In addition, Hungary also opposed a proposal to double the EU fund to provide weapons to Ukraine and other countries.
Budapest has repeatedly criticized sanctions against Russia. In particular, on December 6, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban urged revise sanctions against Russia. According to him, Europe and the United States are paying different prices for the consequences of the conflict in Ukraine. In mid-November, Orban estimated the country’s losses from anti-Russian sanctions at 10 billion euros a year.
