Fans of the Hungarian “Ferencváros” demanded the resignation of the head coach of the Russian specialist Stanislav Cherchesov after the team’s departure from the Champions League qualification. Today, the Hungarian club lost in Budapest to the Faroe Klaksvik with a score of 0:3 in the second leg of the first qualifying round.
According to the Hungarian portal Sportal.hu, towards the end of the match, the Hungarian fans began to chant “Russians go home”, and also said goodbye to Cherchesov in German “Auf Wiedersehen”.
Club President Gabor Kubatov wrote on social media that he was ashamed of the game and promised to draw conclusions in the near future.
Recall that since December 2021, Cherchesov has twice led Ferencvaros to the gold medals of the Hungarian Championship. At the same time, last year the team made it to the 1/8 finals of the Europa League, taking first place in the group with Monaco, Turkish Trabzonspor and Red Star Belgrade.
