About 500 passengers (many of them with children) are languishing at the capital’s Sheremetyevo airport for about 10 hours – they cannot fly to rest in Antalya, reports site KP.RU.
The flight, according to the newspaper, is operated by the Turkish company Southwind Airlines, which deals only with charters to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. According to the schedule, the Boeing was supposed to take off from Moscow at 01:05.
People were kept on board the aircraft for about two hours without explaining the reasons for the delay, then they were taken back to the terminal building, a source familiar with the situation said. According to him, one of the crew members (it is specified that they are Russian-speaking people) said that one of the pilots had problems with his passport and Turkish visa. There is no official confirmation of this version.
Representatives of the airline, as noted, do not answer calls. The press service of Sheremetyevo Airport does not comment on the situation.
