HR expert called career mistakes hindering income growth

HR expert, founder of the educational platform for HR professionals topcareer Svetlana Smolnikova in an interview with Moslenta named career mistakes that hinder income growth.
First. An employee who “does not show initiative and is not included in the work process,” according to Smolnikova, “cuts off the company’s capabilities” and “in response, the employer cannot provide him with career and financial growth.”
Second: rare or, conversely, frequent job changes. As Smolnikova noted, staying in one place for a long time limits opportunities and development. The exception is working in a progressive company, where new directions are being launched all the time and functionality needs to be updated.
Frequent change of work does not allow a person to realize himself as a professional.
The expert noted that it was a bad decision to quit because of conflicts with colleagues, it is necessary to resolve the controversial situation. It is also wrong to leave the company after the management or for the sake of creating your own project – it is better to first test it at the same time as the main employment. Sometimes newcomers leave their place of work in a hurry: some do not withstand the probationary period, while others do not survive the new environment. In order not to experience stress, Smolnikova recommends contacting a psychologist.
The expert advises to “keep your finger on the pulse” because “the market makes business very mobile.” What is relevant today may be outdated tomorrow. And she called learning, borrowing knowledge from other people and constant rotation in the system the best way to success.
