“How to start sorting garbage”: Muscovites will be taught conscious consumption

Residents of the capital will be able to learn more about waste sorting and eco-habits. For them, an online course on the separate waste accumulation program will begin in mid-November. The skills that listeners will get while watching lectures, they will be able to apply in real life: separate garbage at home into recyclables and mixed waste and throw it into the blue and gray bins in the yard, respectively.

“Today it is becoming fashionable to wear things made from recycled materials, whole eco-quarters are appearing, in our country there is a noticeable demand for ecotourism, conscious consumption. State programs and investments in “green” technologies will become effective when every person becomes aware of responsibility for their future,” said public figure and initiator of the idea of ​​launching the course, Tina Kandelaki.

In fifteen-minute videos, in a simple and understandable language, they will talk about easy sorting rules, as well as give arguments why everyone needs it. The course will be free: it was launched as part of a social initiative, and its mission is to teach Muscovites how to use the infrastructure provided by the city.

According to environmentalist and eco-activist Roman Sablin, the development of urban infrastructure for separate waste collection in the capital is still ahead of the ecological culture of residents. The authors of the educational program plan to work with this.
