How is the mobilization in Moscow: one day in the military registration and enlistment office

On Thursday, September 22, Muscovites who received subpoenas as part of the partial mobilization on Thursday, September 22, were sent by bus to the nearest military units for combat coordination. As they told the MK correspondent, the most popular military specialties are artillerymen, riflemen and infantrymen. Among those mobilized there are also young people who have recently served in the army, and men who have exchanged their fifth decade.

Citizens, who had received summons the day before, started arriving at one of the regional military registration and enlistment offices of the capital by 10 o’clock in the morning. One or two people approached the building.

“It was written on my agenda that I needed to appear to clarify my credentials, and the time was indicated – from 10 to 11 in the morning,” says 37-year-old Yuri. “To be honest, it’s exciting. Although I don’t fit my age, my specialty is in demand – I am a deputy commander of a rifle platoon, a senior sergeant.

The summons for Yuri, as he said, was received by his mother – early in the morning they came home, rang the doorbell and held out a piece of paper: “Please sign.”

So what’s the point of running? Not that case. They said to come today – so today …

By the way, Yuri is not the only one who received a “summary from his mother.”

– I just listened to the president’s speech and also thought: “Now they will bring the agenda.” Right at that moment, the doorbell rang. I took it,” said the mother of another 27-year-old future fighter, who came with him to the military enlistment office.

At the entrance to the military registration and enlistment office, young people present summons. They are asked to go up to the second floor. On the first one, a line has already lined up for a medical examination of those who arrived earlier.

Upstairs, in the assembly hall, about 50 people gathered: from thin young men to strong “guys from our yard”, there were even rockers with long hair and a bushy beard. There is also a medical girl in the hall, who also received a summons. Most of the young people are in the most ordinary clothes and, as they say, light. Some, it seems, of the seasoned, had time to prepare – shaved and wearing an M-65 military jacket.

Silence reigns in the hall – they are waiting for an employee of the military registration and enlistment office, who will deal with each candidate for the mobilized.

– Scary? a stocky man asks a young boy in a whisper. .

“No, it’s fine,” he replies, obviously trying to hide his excitement.

Closer to 11.00 an employee of the military registration and enlistment office comes into the hall with a pile of documents. Bystanders are asked to leave the room.

What, you didn’t join the army? – healthy guys at the door laugh, not having time to take empty seats in the hall.

Thirty minutes later, clarity appears: out of fifty gathered reservists, 35 will go directly to the Taman and Kantemirovskaya divisions today. There, the mobilized will undergo combat coordination.

It also turns out that the summons, in which it was written “to clarify the credentials”, “burn out” in the military registration and enlistment office. New subpoenas will be issued upon arrival at the unit.

Moms, sisters, girls of the mobilized are being pulled up to the military registration and enlistment office. Surprisingly, the women are as focused as possible – no unnecessary emotions, despite the announcement that in an hour the first bus will appear at the military registration and enlistment office, which will take the fighters to the Taman division. Another one will leave for Naro-Fominsk at 16.00.

– Well, we have strength and patience. Everything will be fine, – the mother of the mobilized encourages herself and others, taking a pack of cigarettes from her purse.

“It’s just a pity that so soon, at least a day was given to prepare, to collect things,” another sighs.

In the packages that hastily collected for the fighters, only the most necessary – socks, underwear, hygiene products, products.

Some young people, without false shyness, take off uncomfortable jeans right in the corridor and change into sweatpants, which relatives brought to the military enlistment office. Behind the brick building of the military commissariat, a Moscow blue electric bus is waiting for men. Without a command, they are in no hurry to climb there – another smoke break, farewell to the girls and friends who managed to go before departure.

– We were told that artillerymen and infantrymen – motorized riflemen – are most needed, – another mobilized person supports the conversation.

By the way, among the mobilized were those who returned home. For a while.

– I have two children, one is 11 years old, the second is 4. But they didn’t even ask about them. But the fact that I am 37 years old turned out to be important. I approached and said that I was over 35, they immediately fussed and returned the military ID. They told me to go home for now, – Yuri shared.

– And I’m generally 45. But my “military man” has already been taken away. Oh, what will be, will be. I’m not going to find out anything, – the age-old mobilized waving his hand, apparently having already made a decision for himself.
