There are a lot of such resources today. However, not all of them have a high level of reliability. Therefore, the method works on average only in 40% of cases.

Some stories heard from acquaintances are impressive. You can hear about how someone posted his resume at 10 pm on Monday, and by Wednesday morning received more than 20 invitations from employers. Unfortunately, such stories are most likely fiction, except perhaps in cases where the applicant was a “dock” in the field of IT technologies or a highly qualified specialist in the field of engineering.

Sending resumes for specific vacancies

Contacting the employer directly is a good way to make yourself known. But it should be borne in mind that getting into a really large company in this way is unlikely to succeed. Such organizations prefer to use other options for finding employees.

Today, a huge number of people resort to the services of Employment Centers, and a decrease in applications is not expected in the near future. After the pandemic, almost all the services of such centers can be received online, including mailing of vacancies. Also, most Employment Centers regularly hold job fairs where you can communicate directly with employers.

To receive information about vacancies, it is not necessary to register as unemployed. Although in this case, vacancies are offered exactly in accordance with the requirements. If you refuse 3 times, you can continue to look for work through the Employment Center, but no longer receive benefits. And the icing on the cake: it offers mostly low-paid physical work, with rare exceptions for medical workers, engineers and IT specialists. Although such an option in today’s conditions has the right to exist.

Search through social networks

In social networks today you can spend time not only on communication, but also post a resume on your page. Here, the advantage is that by viewing your account, the employer will already receive certain information about you. And if you receive an invitation, then most likely you are really something suitable for this position. But here it is very important how your page looks like: subscriptions to dubious communities, obscene photos and posts with boorish vocabulary should obviously be excluded.

Social media job search is best for those who are looking for a job in programming, creative or sales. Also, this option is ideal for those who need remote work. By the way, in social networks there are groups for finding and offering jobs, and it makes sense to join them. However, in any case, here, like nowhere else, it is easy to run into scammers.

Search through relatives, friends or acquaintances

In our country, this option is one of the most common and, importantly, reliable. At the same time, you will be able to find out everything in advance about the nature and requirements of the employer, and your professional qualities may play a very indirect role or mean nothing at all – perhaps for a number of reasons more than a loyal attitude towards a potential candidate. In this case, there will be no problems with employment at all.

Another question is how long you can hold out in a company where your presence will depend on the location of certain people, even if they are close to you. And if problems arise, charges may be brought against the person who recommended the applicant, and colleagues may not accept the “thieves” employee.

Job search through print media

This method is considered somewhat outdated due to the development of the Internet, but it is well suited for teenagers, for those who do not have a specific profession or are looking for low-skilled jobs or jobs in blue-collar jobs. But sometimes in the newspapers you can find serious offers for middle managers, lawyers and accountants. Figuratively speaking, with a certain degree of luck in such a “dunghill” you can find a real “diamond”.

But it is best to use this method in combination with other search options, as print jobs quickly become outdated. But as an opportunity to work part-time, some offers from newspapers can be very useful.

If you dream of getting into a prestigious organization, you can try contacting a recruiting company. In most cases, it is there that the largest companies transfer their vacancies.

However, you should be aware that recruiting agencies work for the employer who sent him an application for the selection of employees, so they are responsible to him, which is called the “head” for the level of professionalism of employees. Going to a recruiting agency is worth it only when you are confident in your full professional suitability, or you have some truly unique skills. At the same time, you should be prepared for maximum competition.

In addition, it is important to consider the reputation of such agencies. In our country, there is often simply no “golden mean” between extremely competent and prestigious and outright fraudulent ones.
