Heroes of the Pen, who write on social topics, were awarded in Moscow

On August 16, the sixth awards ceremony for the winners and laureates of the Heroes of the Pen 2023 social journalism competition took place in Moscow at the House of Atlantes.
In total, the competition received 276 applications from 158 media and social media outlets from all over the country.
34 materials from authors from 22 cities of Russia reached the final.
Patriotism, palliative medicine, assistance and adaptation of children with disabilities, issues of helping animals and environmental projects became the most popular topics of the Heroes of the Pen 2023.
Irina Brichkalevich, correspondent of the family and education department of Moskovsky Komsomolets, became the winner of the competition in the nomination “The press of society” (for print media) with the article “A Russian programmer saved a young Ingush “fugitive” from the torture of her relatives:” I hope they will not be killed.
There were seven nominations in total: “TV Hero” (for TV channels), “On the Line of Kindness” (for Internet portals and news agencies), “Press of Society”, “Generation of Kindness” (for media produced by students or universities), “For social partnership”, “Corporate press”, “Networks of kindness” (for bloggers and publics in social networks).
Among the winners: Shakhtinsky News, Anastasia Kharchishena, TASS; Maria Marikyan, RIA Novosti; Sofia Lomovskaya, The MOST magazine (Tomsk); Veronika Pavlova, GTRK Chuvashia and others.
The journalistic competition “Heroes of the Pen” has been held since 2018 by the ANO Center for Social Projects “Being Human” and is part of the All-Russian project in the field of social responsibility “To be heroes!”, which, as its organizers point out, is “dedicated to ordinary people and their difficult deeds” .
