Heads of BRICS Games delegations from 35 countries met in Kazan

A meeting of heads of delegations whose teams will perform at the BRICS 2024 games has opened in Kazan. Representatives from 35 countries take part in it, mainly online. Guests from Bahrain, Venezuela, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Serbia, and Congo arrived to get acquainted with the infrastructure in person.

The level of holding the BRICS Games will rise to a major international event. Within three days, representatives will receive answers to questions regarding accommodations, sports facilities, services, and the like. This is a kind of city tour. Those responsible for the arrival of athletes in Kazan will receive the necessary information, said the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov.

The BRICS Games of such a scale as in Kazan will be held for the first time; they will turn into a major international tournament, over 4 thousand athletes will arrive.

The reconstruction of the facilities used during the Games will be completed by May.

Team representatives will go on a tour of the Universiade village, where the athletes will be accommodated. Then they will visit other sites.

One of the heads of delegations who came to Kazan for the meeting, Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth of Venezuela Pablo Alfonso Araujo, said that for his country the BRICS Games are important in terms of strengthening relations. The goal is to develop relations between Russia and Venezuela, we want to join BRICS, and sport is a tool that allows us to strengthen friendship between countries. About 50 athletes in nine sports will come from Venezuela to Kazan.
