Head of the State Duma Committee on Defense: 10 thousand mistakenly mobilized returned home
About 10,000 mobilized people were returned home for various reasons, Andrey Kartapolov, chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, said. According to him, those mistakenly mobilized will continue to be returned.
“Of course, if there are such cases, they are being investigated, and, of course, the person will be returned,” he said at a press conference after meeting with United Russia volunteers in St. Petersburg.
President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization on 21 September. Often, within the framework of it, people were called up who were not subject to partial mobilization. For example, the governor of the Omsk region told about cases of delivery of subpoenas to cancer patients and students.
On October 20, a court in St. Petersburg for the first time recognized the decision of the mobilization commission as illegal. The court satisfied the claim of Alexei Rachev, an employee of an organization related to the operation of the financial infrastructure. By law, he should not have been subject to partial mobilization.
