HC “Uralsky Trubnik” will perform under a new name

In the Sverdlovsk region, the bandy teams “Ural Trubnik” and “SKA-Sverdlovsk” have united.
Viktor Babenko, president of Uralsky Trubnik, said at a meeting with the players that a team called SKA-Uralsky Trubnik will play in the Super League, and SKA-Uralsky Trubnik-2 will play in the Premier League.
“Now our club is the only representative of the region in the Superleague of the Russian bandy championship,” the press service quotes Viktor Babenko as saying. – It accumulates the best hockey forces in the region and unites the Ural Trubnik and SKA-Sverdlovsk teams into a single structure.
HC SKA-Sverdlovsk was founded in 1935. The team won the gold medals of the USSR championship 11 times and became the champion of Russia once. In 2009, the team left the elite division of the Russian championship and, due to the lack of a suitable stadium in Yekaterinburg, moved to Pervouralsk. Since 2011, SKA-Sverdlovsk has been the youth team of the Sverdlovsk region.
Ural Trubnik was founded in 1937. In Soviet times, the best achievement of the club was fourth place, in Russian history – bronze medals in 2019. In the 2022/2023 season, Trubniki finished 12th out of 14.
