The home series began for HC Sochi with a defeat. On September 21, the southerners lost to Avangard Omsk with a score of 1:4. Fans were not so much disappointed by the confident victory of the Omsk team as they were upset by the lack of fights on the ice.

Sochi and Avangard hockey players staged ice battles during pre-season meetings. The same game went quite smoothly: both teams had only 18 penalties (8-10).

“We were preparing for the game, not for boxing. But they were also ready for boxing, so it’s okay. We are even glad that nothing like this happened,” commented Sochi head coach Dmitry Rybkin.
Omsk “hawks” won back the advantage at the beginning of the match, scoring two goals in the first minutes. The only year of the Sochi residents happened at the same time – its author Nikita Popugaev.

The second period was controlled by “leopards”, but they failed to score. In the third, the Omsk players again took the initiative, sending two goals into the goal of HC Sochi.

The team will play the next match on September 23 on the ice of the Bolshoi Sports Palace in Sochi. There, the southerners will meet with the hockey players of the Moscow “Spartak”.

Recall that the last meeting with the Muscovites was unsuccessful for the southerners. On September 18, HC Sochi lost to CSKA.
