“Happened in Kyiv”: Klara Novikova declassified Gordon’s secret connection with Kashpirovsky

The psychic gave Novikova, Zhvanetsky and Shifrin a not very warm welcome

Comedian Klara Novikova has been on stage for more than fifty years. During this time, the artist traveled all over the country far and wide. Now she shares her memories at her performances. At one of them, the legendary comedian declassified the secret connection of Dmitry Gordon (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation, and also included in the register of terrorists and extremists. – Ed.) with the psychic Anatoly Kashpirovsky.

Klara Borisovna met Gordon, who now fiercely hates Russia, almost thirty years ago. Then the journalist actively tried to establish contact with guests from Moscow in order to arrange dubious trips. Novikova spoke about one of them, which happened in Kyiv, at a speech in Moscow.

“We had a series of concerts in Kyiv,” shares Klara Borisovna. – And Kashpirovsky was very popular at that time! You don’t even understand how much. He gathered huge halls. Crazy people came to him, whom he charmed, they fell, “charged up.”

As it turned out, Kashpirovsky, despite his national fame, actively tried to get acquainted with the stars. And for this he used Gordon, who worked part-time for him.

“We performed for three days, and Dima Gordon came to us all three days,” Novikova explained. – Today he is a journalist… And then he was a press secretary, one might say, for Kashpirovsky. Dima came for three days and said that Kashpirovsky was waiting for us to visit him. And so we performed in Kyiv for three days, Dima came for three days.

Ultimately, under the pressure of the current foreign agent of the Russian Federation, included in the register of terrorists and extremists, the comedians surrendered. And we went to Kashpirovsky’s house.

“They put Fimka Shifrin and me in a police car with bars,” the comedian explained. “Everyone rode in these, because we weren’t supposed to know where Kashpirovsky lived. And I am from Kiev. Of course, I immediately realized that we were being taken to Lesya Ukrainka Street. And now we enter Kashpirovsky’s new house. Me with a huge bouquet of flowers that they gave me at the concert. We are met by an aunt in a tracksuit, with a bucket in her hands. I give her the bouquet, and she grumbles: “All sorts of people walk around here with bouquets.” And my bouquet is in a bucket.

“Then this woman comes up and says: “Did you come into the house wearing shoes?” — Novikova continued to share her memories. – And no one told us to take off our shoes! I took off my boots and gave them to her across the table. I’m okay, no judgments of any kind – we just didn’t expect such a reception!

It soon became clear that this woman was Kashpirovsky’s wife. The psychic himself was more amiable with the guests. Although very stingy: on the table there was only a Kiev cake and a few steaks.

“He put the bottle on the table, and there were so many of us that this bottle was drunk in one second,” Novikova laughs. – Mikhail Mikhailovich Zhvanetsky says to him: “Why did you put one bottle, Tolya? Let’s!” Tolya opened a huge buffet: there are apparently invisibly bottles there!

Novikova was not delighted with Kashpirovsky’s reception. Therefore, they soon left his house and went to the Kyiv engineers, who turned out to be much more hospitable.
