Hamas positively assessed the draft agreement on the release of Israeli hostages

The Palestinian Hamas movement confirmed that it had a positive attitude towards the draft agreement on the release of Israeli hostages.

Representatives of the movement said that they conveyed to Qatar and Egypt their response regarding the framework agreement on the release of the Israelis taken hostage.

Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abderrahman Al Thani said that Hamas had indeed received a response to the mediators’ proposal for a temporary truce in the Gaza Strip, agreed in Paris and approved by Israel. It also implies the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the gradual release of Israeli hostages.

According to the politician, “Hamas’ reaction inspires optimism, but we will not go into details now due to the sensitivity of the situation.”

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia commented on Israel’s actions to rescue hostages held captive by Hamas, against the backdrop of the situation with the Russian rock group “Bi-2”. The department stated that it treats with understanding “the attempts of Israeli diplomats to demonstrate the possibility of freeing, if not the hostages, then the musicians.”

At the same time, on February 1 it became known that the Israeli authorities 114 Palestinian prisoners released from prison.
