On November 30, VDNKh hosts the “Day of the Samara Region”. “MK” talks about the wealth Samara presented at the event.

Rosneft Vice President for Oil Refining and Petrochemicals Igor Bystrov spoke at the opening. He noted the importance of Samara in the country’s economy and industry: “The Samara region is one of the most important centers of the country’s oil and gas region and has the most valuable scientific and technical personnel. Moreover, historically, since 1936, over 1 billion 300 million tons of oil have been produced in the region.”

He spoke about the cooperation between the Government of the Samara Region and Rosneft. Since 2009, a large-scale program has been carried out to modernize oil refineries in the region.

The social sphere is not lagging behind: with the help of the company in the region, kindergartens, schools are being equipped and renovated, territories are being developed, cultural institutions are being supported, and children’s and mass sports are being developed. The volume of total charitable support has already amounted to more than 6.5 billion rubles.

Cooperation between the company and the Government of the Samara region has become an important milestone in the development of the region. For example, in Samara, with the assistance of oil workers, a swimming pool and a Sports Palace were built. In a number of other cities in the region there are ice arenas. And in the Syzran branch of SamSTU a modern research laboratory complex was created.

At the opening ceremony of the Days of the Samara Region, a video about the joint activities of Rosneft and the Samara Region was shown on the big screen. The company owns three large oil refineries in the region – Kuibyshevsky, Novokuibyshevsky and Syzran oil refineries. There are several gas processing enterprises in the region – Otradnensky and Neftegorsky gas processing plants. Enterprises provide jobs for more than 25 thousand people, and the amount of tax contributions to the regional budget over the last 3 years amounted to 38 billion rubles.

After the official part, as expected, the entertainment part started. The program is extensive: a quiz, a master class, and performances by artists. At the entrance to the pavilion we are greeted by two girls dressed in painted costumes with huge kokoshniks. This is the work of Samara designer Ursula Berg, who sews theatrical costumes. According to the designer’s assistant, the author drew ideas for outfits from traditional Russian costume, inspired by Vasnetsov’s paintings.

The Samara musical duo “Bayan-Mix”, which represented the region at many international competitions, warmed up the festive atmosphere with their interpretations of classical works. At this time, project presentations went on as usual. The video project “Russia’s Fish Wealth” was followed by a presentation of the “Volga Rally” tourist route. This is a specially designed driving route with a length of 88 kilometers, which starts from the Solidarity Samara Arena stadium and ends at the Rosneft Lada Sport pavilion, where you can meet the team of racers and try your hand at driving simulators and simulators. The route passes through the Zerno gas station points and the most beautiful places in the Samara region.

And the final chord of the Samara theme was the performance of the soloists of the State Academic Russian Volga Volga Choir named after Pyotr Miloslavov.

All these events took place as part of the international exhibition and forum “Russia”, which opened at VDNKh on National Unity Day. This is one of the largest exhibitions of this format, which is dedicated to the most important achievements of the country, regions and largest companies over 10 years, and their further plans for the future.
